Tips and Information on Purchasing a Lift Harness for your Senior or Injured Dog
Not all senior dogs need a Pup Boost Lift Harness, as in my case. My Aussie mix Skylar needed one and Coco my chocolate lab did not.
I first used a towel because we were usually headed toward the beach anyway. However, my back would feel as if I was bending over more than I comfortably should have, so my research for a good lift harness began.
I bought a Pup Boost Lift Harness for Skylar and was very pleased with this purchase. It is durable, affordable, comfortable, and washable! The inside material of soft and durable nylon was the same as the outside.
The straps on the Pup Boost Lift Harnes were shorter in height so I did need to bend a bit as I lifted Skylar up or down steps and uneven surfaces. Easy wide velcro attachment. (the black harness pictured above- left)
Because we mainly went to the beach, the Pup Boost Lift Harness was our go-to harness because I could easily roll it up in my backpack. However, when we would hike or go walking in the park, I purchased the PETABABA Dog Lift Harness because the straps were longer (adjustable to a shorter length as well). This made it so that Skylar would walk alongside me and I didn’t need to bend over at all. (the black & orange harness pictured above-right)
The PETBABA Dog Lift Harness has a nylon exterior and a very soft inner lining. And, is also an easy wide velcro attachment. I was happy with both purchases!
You can also purchase, (which I did as well) a harness that attaches both front legs and back. This particular harness was one I used when we were traveling and it was easy to lift Skylar into and out of the car without any stress on her body whatsoever.
You can purchase a HelpEm Up Harness which is what I did. This was an excellent purchase and the materials were very well made and extremely comfortable on Skylar. It will cost you over $100 (worth every penny for me). Pictured below is Skylar wearing a HelpEm Up Harness.
Or you can get the same kind of harness for less (Doggie Stylz multi-functional harness). This harness does the same thing and will cost you $42.00. It is just as soft as the HelpEm Up Harness but less expensive and just as durable. Either way, both are comfortable harnesses for your dog and you will feel really good about your purchase from either.
