Indoor Non-slip Dog Socks are No Joke
Senior dogs eventually have trouble getting up, especially on hardwood and non-carpeted floors. The strength that provided foot traction is weaker and therefore their footing slides. With this added difficulty, it also spreads their legs further than normal and can eventually pull their fragile ligaments.
Grippers Non-Slip Dog Socks-Traction Control for Indoor Wear are instrumental in allowing your pet the same traction they have learned to trust throughout their lifetime. I thought that because my dog was not used to anything on her feet, she would easily pull them off. She didn’t even try to take these Grippers off which surprised even me. Which was a relief to me.
I bought this specific brand, Grippers Non-Slip Dog Socks-Traction Control for Indoor Wear for my Aussie mix, Skylar. Coco, my chocolate lab was still sure-footed and didn’t need these socks. Skylar, on the other hand, needed assistance. These Grippers were perfect.
If you live where the temperatures are high or in the summertime where it’s warmer, these mesh LONSUNEER Dog Boots Breathable and Protect Paws Soft Nonslip Soles are great.
Dogs’ sweat glands are in their paws so you want to make sure you are working with their bodies. Think of when you wear boots. Would you normally wear your warmest boots on a hot day? You most likely wouldn’t. When we take care of our animals, we begin from their point of view. They depend on us to make conscious decisions with their comfort levels, so be aware and patient.
You can also get waterproof dog protector socks which I never tried, but looking back I might have also gotten the waterproof socks as well. At one point, we lived in Washington where it was wetter than dry outside, and not having to take her socks off when it was raining and wiping them off at the doorway would have been much easier.
These Grippers are a breeze to put on and they come with 4 velcro straps that go around the top of each sock for added hold. I didn’t encounter any problems with these Grippers Non-Slip Dog Socks. They stayed on Skylar’s feet, she was able to move indoors and outdoors quite easily and she was able to lift herself off floor surfaces without slipping.
Purchasing both indoor socks and outdoor traction boots is a good idea and I believe your precious pet will thank you too!
